This week's blog features photos that I took over a period of several weeks, wandering around the Port of Los Angeles. The port complex, located in San Pedro Bay, occupies 7500 acres of land and employs around 896,000 people in the LA County region. It is the busiest container port in the Western Hemisphere, with around $1.2 billion of cargo coming in and out on a daily basis. Due to security issues and high fences, finding access to locations where you are close enough to, and also have an unobstructed view of, visually interesting aspects of the port, is a challenge. But there is still an array of boats, cranes, shipping containers, buoys and other port details to provide some interesting photo opportunities - it just requires some legwork to find them.
Until next week.
