During the late 70's and 80's, while working as a photojournalist, I found the park bench to be a frequent venue for opportunities to capture human interest photos. The park bench was always a place where you could find people engaging one another in conversation, finding alone time for reading and even managing to get in some exercise. Although that is still surely the case, 35 years later you are just as likely to find some of the less fortunate among us using the bench as a place to lay their heads.
